The Quiet
Creating the conditions to listen
As my whole life got quiet, I was gifted the space to listen.
How often are our lives quiet?
How often do we feel we have the space to listen?
How often are we intentional about creating the appropriate listening conditions?
If we could cultivate them, what would these conditions be?
Slowness, calm, relinquishing “busy”?
Presence, peace, a felt sense of “worthy”?
Are these conditions tied to a specific setting?
By the beach, on the mountain, in the city?
Does my life feel quiet because I’m settled in a peaceful environment?
Or does my life feel quiet because I’m at peace with where I am in it?
I don’t know.
Maybe it’s both?
I don’t know.
But I know that peace plays a role.
I know that peace is a factor.
Because peace welcomes the quiet.
And the quiet holds the answer.
The line at the beginning is the last one in the Introduction.
I wrote this book one line at a time.
I wrote this book by listening.
Listening that took training.
Listening that took trusting.
Listening… and then writing.
I apologize that there isn’t a means of listening to the writing yet.
But here’s the link if you want to read it.

Everything is connected
